The Nova Solvers Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU) provides battery isolation during launch and controlled battery connection following launch vehicle separation. The unit forms the interface between the spacecraft battery and the primary power system, enabling a safe transition from launch to normal on-orbit operations.

The BDU utilizes a passive switching architecture with no active electronics, providing a simple and reliable solution for mission-critical power activation. Its design minimizes complexity while supporting dependable operation throughout the mission life.

Designed to withstand harsh launch and space environments, the Battery Disconnect Unit is engineered for exposure to vibration, shock, vacuum, radiation, and thermal cycling.
